Admission to the College
Chamberlain College of Nursing looks for candidates with the following qualifications:
- A minimum ACT composite score of 21, minimum SAT critical reading and mathematics reasoning (CR-M) score of 990, or minimum A2 Admission Assessment score of 75. All students are required to complete the A2 Admission Assessment test prior to admission. A student may retake the A2 Admission Assessment only once after a three day waiting period.
- High school cumulative GPA of 2.75 from all previously attended institutions or successful completion of the General Education Development Examination (GED).
- For RN to BSN students, a CGPA of 2.0 is accepted for the diploma or associate degree.
- College CGPA of 2.75 from each institution attended, excluding developmental courses. For RN to BSN students, GPA of 2.0 is accepted for any coursework taken since completion of the nursing program.
- Unencumbered nursing license (RNs and LPNs).
- Minimum grade of C in all nursing courses from any previous nursing education.
- Demonstration of mastery of English through a score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for applicants whose native language is not English.
Once a student is accepted into a program of study he/she will matriculate though the curriculum in place at the time of admission. A student continuously enrolled, i.e., with no interruption of the academic program longer than one semester’s absence, is expected to fulfill the requirements of the catalog current at the time of admission to Chamberlain College of Nursing.
