Chamberlain College of Nursing Offers Scholarships to DAISY Award Recipients — May 28, 2013
Chamberlain College of Nursing announced today it is offering a special scholarship to the more than 35,000 DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award nurses for their clinical competency and compassionate care for patients. The DAISY Honoree Scholarships are part of Chamberlain’s exclusive national college of nursing sponsorship of the DAISY Foundation, a public foundation serving the nursing profession through meaningful recognition programs and grants for nursing research.

Chamberlain College of Nursing and Catholic Health Initiatives Establish Education Program — May 7, 2013
Chamberlain College of Nursing and Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a national nonprofit health system, announced a new education program that provides CHI nurses with an educational partner tuition rate for Chamberlain’s post licensure online programs. The program expands access to Chamberlain’s post licensure educational programs for nurses across the CHI system, which includes more than 75 hospitals, 40 long-term care, assisted- and residential-living facilities and health-services organizations across 17 states. CHI offers health services at diverse clinical sites ranging from major regional medical centers to critical access hospitals in rural locations.

Chamberlain College of Nursing Offers New Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree Program — March 5, 2013
Responding to the Institute of Medicine’s call for more advanced nursing education opportunities, Chamberlain College of Nursing has launched a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program designed for the advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). Chamberlain’s DNP degree program is focused on clinical practice and implementing solutions within the patient microsystem, where healthcare professionals, administrators and family work together to improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare delivery.

Chamberlain College of Nursing Establishes New Campus in Tinley Park, Ill. — January 28, 2013
Chamberlain College of Nursing is opening a new campus in Tinley Park, Ill., and is now accepting applications for admission to the summer semester, which begins May 6, 2013. This new campus opening reinforces Chamberlain’s commitment to increasing access to nursing education and addresses the growing demand for nurses in Illinois. The Tinley Park campus is Chamberlain’s third campus in Illinois. Chamberlain’s Addison, Ill. campus opened in 2008, and the Chicago campus opened in 2010.

Chamberlain College of Nursing Appoints Five Members to Board of Trustees — January 14, 2013
Chamberlain College of Nursing announces the appointment of accomplished leaders Rhonda Anderson, Connie Curran, Susan Groenwald, William Hughson and Nancy Valentine to its board of trustees. The board is the institutional governing body for Chamberlain, overseeing academic, operational and financial policies. Joanne Disch, clinical professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, was appointed chair of the board in October.

Dr. Mary Judith Yoho Named “Outstanding Nurse of 2012” by Texas Nurses Association District 9 — November 1, 2012
Chamberlain College of Nursing is pleased to announce that Houston Campus President Mary Judith Yoho, PhD, MSN, RN, CNE, was selected as one of “20 Outstanding Nurses of 2012” by the Texas Nurses Association (TNA) District 9. The 20 honorees will be recognized at the Nursing Celebration 2012 on Nov. 8. TNA District 9 is one of 28 districts represented by Texas Nurses Association, the oldest professional nursing association in the state.

The inaugural Elite Partner to join the National League for Nursing campaign, Chamberlain College of Nursing is the first named NLN Center for Nursing Education, the League announced today. Chamberlain is committing significant investment funding and resources, over the next seven years, to support the NLN Chamberlain College of Nursing Center for the Advancement of the Science of Nursing Education which promotes evidence-based nursing education and the scholarship of teaching. This lead gift for the NLN Home for Transformative Excellence in Washington, DC is a major step towards the League’s $23 million goal.

Chamberlain College of Nursing is opening a new campus in Cleveland’s Health-Tech Corridor and is now accepting applications for admission to the spring semester that begins Jan. 7, 2013. This new campus provides access to the Health-Tech Corridor’s world-renowned healthcare research and clinical institutions and reinforces Chamberlain’s commitment to addressing the growing demand for nurses in Ohio. The Cleveland campus is also Chamberlain’s first campus to receive a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Chamberlain College of Nursing Professor To Be Inducted as Fellow into National League for Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education — September 13, 2012
Janice Unruh Davidson, PhD, RN-BC, FNP-BC, NEA-BC, CNE, FAANP, a graduate professor at Chamberlain College of Nursing, is to be inducted as a fellow into the National League for Nursing’s (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education on Sept. 21, 2012 at the annual NLN Education Summit in Anaheim, Calif. Dr. Davidson is one of 32 distinguished nurse educators being inducted this year, joining the 117 fellows representing nursing schools and programs throughout the United States.

Chamberlain College of Nursing has announced the appointment of Carole R. Eldridge, DNP, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, as director of graduate programs. Dr. Eldridge has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including nursing practice, education, research and management. She previously served as president of Chamberlain’s Houston campus from 2010 to 2011. In her new role, Dr. Eldridge is responsible for curriculum and course development, faculty operations and student services for Chamberlain’s graduate degree programs. Dr. Eldridge is replacing Diana Meeks-Sjostrom, PhD, MSN, CS, FNP-BC, CNE, who returned to a graduate faculty role at Chamberlain.

American Nurses Association and Chamberlain College of Nursing Establish National Education Collaboration — August 7, 2012
The American Nurses Association (ANA) and Chamberlain College of Nursing announced a new education collaboration that provides ANA members with a special tuition rate for Chamberlain’s post licensure online degree options. The collaboration provides education access to 3.1 million registered nurses (RNs) in 51 ANA constituent and state nurses associations throughout the United States.

Chamberlain College of Nursing has announced the appointment of Katherine Walls, PhD, MSN, RN, as president of its Jacksonville campus. Dr. Walls succeeds Katherine Dimmock, JD, EdD, MSN, RN, who served as the Jacksonville campus president since its opening in 2009. Dr. Dimmock is assuming the role of campus president at Chamberlain’s Miramar, Fla. campus. As presidents, they will oversee implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services and management of daily operations for Chamberlain's Jacksonville and Miramar campuses.

King has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including practice, executive management and instruction. In her new role, she will oversee implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services, growth and development of regional clinical partnerships and management of the day-to-day operations for Chamberlain’s Chicago campus.

Chamberlain College of Nursing is opening a new campus in Perimeter Center in Atlanta and is now accepting applications for admission to the summer semester, which begins April 30, 2012. The Atlanta campus features Chamberlain’s SIMCARE CENTER (TM), which provides high-tech simulated patient care in clinical learning environments, and a Center for Academic Success, which provides students with comprehensive academic resources and support. This new campus opening reinforces Chamberlain’s commitment to increasing access to nursing education and addresses the growing demand for nurses in Georgia.
