Does the Evening/Weekend Option have the same benefits as the traditional BSN option?

Traditional students are those who take daytime, weekday classes to earn their BSN. Online options—which greatly expanded because of the need for alternatives during the COVID-19 pandemic—give all students greater flexibility, regardless of whether you are in a traditional or an evening/ weekend cohort. And remember, whichever path you take at Chamberlain Addison, your advantages include:

  • A Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(CCNE)-accredited BSN degree program

  • No wait lists or prerequisite courses

Can I switch from the tradition BSN degree program to the evening/weekend option?

Weekend and night nursing program courses are limited to students enrolled in a evening/weekend cohort. Students in evening/weekend cohorts are limited to enrolling in courses during the evening/weekend only.

How many credit hours are required for the BSN degree program—Evening/Weekend option?

The number of total credit hours for completion of the evening/weekend option is equal to the number required to complete the BSN degree program. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program consists of a minimum of 122 credit hours: 56 credit hours in general education and 66 credit hours in the nursing major.

Online general education and nursing courses may be offered within the BSN curriculum plan. In order to assist in successful completion of online coursework, an online readiness assessment is an integral part of the admission process. Based upon the outcome of the online readiness assessment, skill building activities may be required.

What do I need for admission to Chamberlain Addison?

Prospective nursing students begin the admission process by completing an application and then interviewing with a Chamberlain admission representative. The admission criteria include:

  • Proof of high school graduation, with a 2.75 cumulative grade point average or above; or a GED® test score of 551 if taken between 2002-2013, or a minimum score of 600 if taken in 2014 or later
  • A minimum score of 73 on the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) Exam.
